Olde Florida Payroll is a family-owned and operated HR outsourcing firm. We support the payroll needs of hundreds of large and small businesses throughout Florida.
The marketplace in which Olde Florida Payroll competes is dominated by large national processors. Several are publicly-traded which, in our opinion, impacts the customer experience in two key areas. Olde Florida Payroll was established to address perceived shortcomings in both:
By definition, public companies must serve stockholders first. Despite being massively profitable, public payroll processors must constantly meet Wall Street’s growth and profitability expectations. That means preserving a pricing structure that’s complicated and cumbersome. Many of our clients had difficulty even computing their annual payroll processing charges with our competitors. By contrast, our simple and inclusive ‘Per Check, Per Payroll’ billing structure seems too good to be true.
Our national competitors have decades of legacy systems to connect and maintain, which is an expensive task. Today’s independent payroll processors use modern SQL-based software systems built around the Internet, and those efficiencies allow us to provide our professional services at a terrific value.
Having spent nearly a decade with national processors, our founder envisioned a completely different service model. Why couldn’t a payroll service bureau act like a consultancy – where service is performed first by the principals of the firm and their key staffers? Frustrated by the ‘call center’ mentality that pervades most large multi-national firms these days, he built a better mousetrap.
Our owners lead new clients through the sales and implementation cycles, and along with a team of credentialed, experienced consultants, perform day-to-day service for our clients. Rather than navigate a call-center queue armed with an impersonal ‘company code’, our clients phone us directly for warm, personal service from a team who knows their account and recognizes their voice.
We’re successful in building strong client relationships because we’re careful about the clients we take, when we take them and under what terms. As a profitable, family-run business, we’re free to focus on adding mutually-beneficial relationships to our portfolio.
Our competition has quotas to meet. We don’t.
Greg and Julie Borden are the founders and owners of Olde Florida Payroll, LLC. Prior to creating the business as Naples Payroll in 2005, Greg accumulated a decade of experience in senior client management roles with ProBusiness Services, Inc., and its acquirer, Automatic Data Processing, Inc. Greg’s primary business passions, organizational efficiency and customer service re-engineering, mesh beautifully to form a unique and innovative alternative in HR outsourcing for Florida-based businesses. He’s a firm believer in the management theory of Net Promoter Score™, a discipline by which companies profitably grow by focusing on their customers. Since its founding, Olde Florida Payroll has instituted those principles to measure and quantify customer satisfaction. An Indiana native, Greg has a degree in business management and a minor in marketing from Purdue University.
Julie’s diverse background in education, technical writing and human resources serve her well in her day-to-day management of Olde Florida’s service operations. She spearheads both client and employee training and supports the front-line consulting and service efforts of the team. A long-time Hoosier as well, Julie has a degree in journalism from Indiana University. She and Greg raise three young children in their hometown of Naples.

Patrick leads Olde Florida Payroll’s business development efforts. With over 15 years of sales and marketing experience, Patrick brings a commitment to building long-term client relationships. Prior to joining Olde Florida Payroll, Patrick was a President’s Club honoree as Local Sales Manager with Comcast Spotlight. A native of Indiana and graduate of Indiana University, Patrick resides in Naples with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children.
